Osborne House

Osborne House, the family home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, offers a majestic setting for your wedding in the Isle of Wight. The house was built in Italianate style and features a number of artefacts from the Royal Collection. Steeped in history, the impressive building has played host to royalty and dignitaries from all over the world, and for your special day, you can follow in their footsteps.

Whether you are planning a small, intimate gathering or a more extravagant affair, Osborne House has a number of rooms to suit your event. The Duchess of Kent suite, a pair of adjoining rooms, is ideal for small ceremonies with up to 30 guests or a drinks reception with 70. The grand suite was once used by King George V and Queen Mary for their honeymoon. All of the rooms boast expansive views of the grounds, the Solent and beyond.

Once Queen Victoria's private chapel, the Victoria Hall is a spectacular dining room. The room can seat up to 120 guests for a ceremony and 100 guests for a delicious wedding breakfast. The Hall is full of characterful features, such as the exquisite stained glass windows and the arched windows overlooking the charming garden terraces. By evening, the enchanting atmosphere is made even more magical when illuminated by the lamps and chandeliers.

Located adjacent to the Victoria Hall, the Orangery is a stunning, sophisticated post-dinner retreat. With its beautifully arched windows leading out to the garden terrace, a marble bar and large glazed mirrors, the room exudes elegance. The Duchess of Kent suite, Victoria Hall and the Orangery can be used in conjunction with each other for a wonderful wedding celebration.

The Durbar Room can comfortably seat between 50 guests for your ceremony and 80 guests for dinner, providing you with the perfect setting for your cherished memories. Boasting magnificent Indian-inspired carved white plaster ceilings and walls, the room features a grand banqueting table to seat 24 guests, surrounded by some of the treasures given to Queen Victoria.

The Durbar Lawn enjoys spectacular views across the garden terraces and grounds with views down to the sea. When the light begins to fade, the illuminated house provides a breath-taking background for a marquee celebration to accommodate up to 2500 guests. The stunning house, beautiful gardens, secluded bay and walled garden will spoil you for choice by offering a number of unique backdrops for your photographs.
