Steeped in history, West Horsley Place is a Grade I listed medieval manor house set in the heart of the Surrey countryside. Left almost untouched for a century, like Sleeping Beauty, West Horsley Place is waking from its slumber and exudes a magical and timeless atmosphere. Just 30 miles from London, yet nestled away in a complete world of its own, West Horsley Place is the ideal setting for the quintessential English country wedding. Though the site has been occupied since Saxon times, the current house dates from 1425 and the charming mellow red brick facade, that gives the house it welcoming embrace, added in the seventeenth cenury. The estate is being lovingly restored and opened to the public for the first time in its 1000 year history. Having your special day here will continue our centuries-long story, breathe life back into this precious jewel and help to secure its future.

Currently on Historic England's At Risk Register, by 2020, West Horsley Place will offer a fantastic selection of restored formal reception rooms for you to choose from. Each exuding their own unique charm, from the classical grandeur of the Stone Hall to the intimate warmth of the Library:

The Stone Hall: wedding breakfast 100 guests, seated 120 guests

Morning Room: wedding breakfast 60 guests, seated 80 guests

Library: wedding breakfast 40 guests, seated 40 guests

Drawing Room: wedding breakfast 70 guests, seated 70 guests

Lady Crewe's bedroom: wedding breakfast 50 guests, seated 50 guests.

Larger guest numbers can be accommodated for unseated drinks receptions or in a marquee.

Manor House bookings comprise exclusive use of the house and our five acres of 18th century walled gardens; a secluded demi-eden that can accommodate a marquee of almost any size.

In 2020 we will be delighted to launch the newly refurbished 19th century barn at Place Farm. A classic yet contemporary barn wedding venue, it will be an option for clients to consider alongside or instead of the Manor House. With a limited capacity for the number of weddings we can host each year we take pride in the fact that each wedding is truly personal and exquisite.
