Traquair is Scotland's oldest inhabited House, and one of Scotland's most romantic castles which will provide a unique and beautiful venue for your wedding day!

Set in the beautiful Tweed Valley, just 1 hour from Edinburgh City Centre, and with personal service and impeccable attention to detail, Traquair is the ideal place for one of the most important days of your life.

With our own Catholic chapel and a license for civil ceremonies, you can hold your ceremony in the House or in one of the magical locations in the grounds. Smaller and more intimate receptions can be held in the main House, and for larger weddings you can have your marquee in the old Walled Garden or in front of the House.

The maximum numbers for a sit down meal in Traquair's Dining Room is 34 guests, however we can seat up to 50 using the adjoining Lower Drawing Room. Marquees are advised for weddings over 50 people, or if you would like to have music and dance through to the night. We work alongside our preferred marquee specialists and are happy to give recommendations.

We offer a number of packages : our 'Sweetheart - wedding for 2 package' is aimed at small intimate weddings, of 8 guests or less, our 'Earl & Countess' package for weddings in the main House, and our 'Walled Garden Party' and 'Jacobite Celebration' packages for large marquee weddings. We have our own catering team, and take pride in sourcing as much as possible from local Borders businesses, and even grow our own in the gardens of Traquair.
