Welcome to The Bear Hotel, a Historic Hotel with a modern feel. Sitting on the banks of the River Dun in the thriving market town of Hungerford and on the borders of Berkshire, Wiltshire and Hampshire, The Bear is ideally located for exploring the North Wessex Downs.

Here at The Bear Hotel, Hungerford we go that extra step every time and go into every detail to make sure that your big day is just how you had imagined it would be.

Our venue is licensed for Civil Ceremonies which are held in our Riverside Suite. The Suite is self-contained, seating up to 70 guests, and has a conservatory with private bar and terrace overlooking the River Dun and Bear Island.

Once owned by Henry VIII and given to his wife Catherine Parr, the beamed ceilings and uneven floors not only flaunt its historic roots, but also provide that sense of romance that everyone is looking for when they book their wedding venue. We have 40 en suite bedrooms which have all been refurbished ready for 2018.

We even offer you exclusive use of the Bear Hotel for wedding parties, alongside wedding packages for Food and Drink.
