Tall John's House
Nestled amongst the Welsh hills in the Llangorse Lake valley, sits the stunning Tall John's House.
Weddings at Tall John's House is a brand new venue- we have restored our beautiful stone barn to the highest standard to begin hosting weddings this summer, 2018. The traditional Welsh barn, with its lofty beams and romantic slit windows is complemented by underfloor heating, background lighting, permanent toilet facilites and a smooth floor.
The barn is a blank canvas venue- yours to style as you wish, to create a space that is personal and unique to you. To help you create the wedding day of your dreams we offer you the chance to make the barn your own- your friends, your family, your style. YOUR day, YOUR way.
Many traditional venues only offer a handful of structured packages, with obligatory choices, 'must haves' and hidden extras which can leave couples feeling hemmed in and with no flexibility or power to create the day they really desire. Using our extensive supplier list you can decorate, furnish and light the barn to your own tastes and your own budget. So if you're after that certain flower from your first date, or the bunting in your favourite colours or a light up bar and the mirror dance floor to really get the party started- then you can go for it!
Right next door to the barn is a large but basic kitchen area with stainless steel work surfaces and sinks, hot and cold water and electrical points.
As well as use of our beautiful barn from Friday to Sunday, you have access to two enchanting, protective courtyards on either side of the barn, with views out across the Black Mountains.The exquisite grounds at Tall Johns House, including the stunning walled garden and spacious lawns for pre-dinner drinks and wedding photographs are for your exclusive use. You're welcome to attach your own marquee to the barn if you need extra space. Included in the rental are 2 nights in our 3 bed/3 bath Honeysuckle Cottage which adjoins the barn. You can use this space as you wish- as a cr\xe8che or area for baby sitters or a self-catering space for family perhaps. Also included for the wedding night is our sensational one bed cottage, The Coachmans. This is self-catering and we supply a romantic wedding breakfast.
We don't charge corkage so you can mix your favourite cocktails or source your own champagne; we allow fireworks and confetti. We are licensed to hold ceremonies on site but if you want a traditional wedding there is a beautiful church by the edge of Llangorse Lake, a mere 5 minutes down the lane from us.
If you need more accommodation there is the option of renting Tall John's Manor House. This beautiful, Georgian manor house can sleep up to 19 people in 11 en-suite bedrooms. This is a staffed house with our resident Tall Johns House team able to offer two or three course lunches and suppers as well as our mouth watering breakfast.
