Goodnestone Park is an exquisite, Palladian gem surrounded by elegant parkland. Home of the 22nd Lord and Lady FitzWalter, and built in 1704, this beautiful stately home and grounds is the perfect venue for a truly magical wedding. The wedding party can walk in the footsteps of Jane Austen, who was a regular visitor to the house. Little wonder the tranquillity and beauty of the house and garden were the inspiration for her masterpiece, Pride and Prejudice.

So, whether you want a large wedding or something more intimate, Goodnestone Park is the perfect venue and you can be assured that your every need will be catered for.

Goodnestone Park is located in the heart of Kent, the Garden of England, just 9 miles from Canterbury, 25 miles from Ashford, and 18 miles from the Eurotunnel.

The ground floor of the house (Dining Room/Round Room/Breakfast Room/Drawing Room & Library) is available for hosting smaller weddings of up to 40 guests for which The Round Room is licenced for civil marriages. This can be hired for the day only on weekdays from \xa3 130 per head including a 3 course wedding breakfast. For a weekend wedding there is a minimum 2 night hire of the whole house which starts at \xa3 5,000 in the off peak season for 24 house guests and a maximum of 16 day guests plus all catering costs.For large wedding celebrations the whole house can be hired for a minumum 2 night stay ( weekends or weekdays) with up to 24 house guests ( in 12 double rooms) and up to 150 wedding guests in a marquee on the lawn adjacent to the house. Prices start from \xa3 10,000 plus catering costs.

We can also cater for weddings independent of the main house in our Courtyard Buildings with direct access to the beautiful gardens. The Fitzwalter Room can cater for wedding parties of up to 100 guests and is licenced for civil ceremonies whilst the walled Courtyard can be transformed into a stunning venue for up to 200 for an evening party. Both these venues can be hired for the day only or combined with a stay in the main house.

Ceremonies can also be held in the stunning, 12th century local village Church of the Holy Cross (this is organised in addition to the package) just a few minutes stroll from the house through the picturesque walled gardens.
