Set amidst the picturesque Shropshire countryside at the end of a sweeping driveway, this idyllic Georgian house has been hosting beautiful weddings for 25 years. 2017 saw an extensive refurbishment, restoring the original features while introducing exceptional interior design. Now you can step inside this magical venue and make yourself at home, inviting your friends and family to celebrate your wedding day surrounded by its history, warmth and elegance.



Entering this great house through the magnificent double doors, you might choose to say 'I do' in The Great Hall. Brimming with character from its chic style to stone floors and portraits of the Davenport family, this is the very heart of the home and the perfect place in which to say your vows. Alternatively, marry in another of the great rooms in the house, or between the pillars on the wonderful front steps of Davenport House, making the most of the idyllic surroundings and fa\xe7ade.



From The Great Hall, double doors open to lead through to the beautiful Saloon with its marquetry floor. It is here that you might choose to enjoy welcome drinks and canapes along with breathtaking views over the lawns beyond. Stone steps lead down from The Saloon to the terrace, lawns and lily pond, a sublime spot in which to mingle with a glass of fizz on warmer days. Photo opportunities are in abundance both inside and out, from the secluded secret garden to the magnificent staircase and fireplaces.



The Drawing Room lures your guests in to dine, with original panelling painted in elegant 'tea green', wood floors and large windows overlooking the lawns. The specialist on-site wedding event planners and expert caterers will work closely with you to create the most spectacular wedding. From delicious canapes to exquisite dining and imaginative, informal evening food, they use only the freshest seasonal ingredients to create your bespoke menu.



Throughout the day, as the rooms connect with one another, there is a natural flow between ceremony, reception, wedding breakfast and evening celebration. As day turns to evening, The Great Hall takes centre stage again as your dance floor, while guests might also choose to relax in The Saloon or The Drawing Room.



Accommodating up to 32 people overnight, you and your closest friends and family can enjoy the beautiful surroundings for the entirety of your day. Four luxurious en-suite bedrooms, including a honeymoon suite and impressive breakfast area are located in the main house, while four cottages in the grounds offer self-catering accommodation, each with a private garden. A further cottage, The Stable, is offered as your bridal preparation area. Light and airy with dressing tables and an array of mirrors, just a few steps across the gravel driveway lead you to the main house and your ceremony. From intimate to lavish, and from contemporary style to the more traditional, Davenport House is your country estate to use exactly as you wish.
