Opened in Spring 2014, Askham Hall and Bank Barn provide the modern country house wedding venue you've been looking for. Located in Cumbria, on the edge of the beautiful Lake District National Park, the venue is suitable for weddings of all sizes and offers a luxurious, intimate and relaxed place in which to say \u201cI do\u201d.

We are licensed for civil ceremonies in the barn as well as our newly refurbished Medieval Hall and, if the weather is on your side, our outdoor pavilion. For a traditional ceremony, St. Peters Church and St. Michael's Church are just a short distance from the venue. If desired, we can provide the contact details for both churches.

Within the grounds of Askham Hall, the grade II listed Bank Barn has been beautifully restored to the highest standard creating a spacious area for weddings and events. The barn boasts original features, such as stone walls and beamed oak ceiling, mixed with contemporary decor. Seating up to 150 guests, it is a fantastic setting for a wedding in every season. The 16th century Medieval Hall is perfect for smaller and mid-week weddings, furthermore we can cater for intimate weddings of up to 40 in the main house.

The venue can be decorated to suit your tastes at an additional cost. Or, providing all 18 of our main hall rooms have been booked by your guests for a minimum of 2 nights, you can access the venue the day before the wedding to decorate yourself.

We can also recommend a variety of quality services, from hair and make-up to bands and photographers.

We offer a variety of options for your catering. The fantastic chefs from our sister establishment, The George and Dragon. All food is prepared in our on-site kitchen with locally sourced produce.
