Hitchin Priory, with its charming historic building and beautiful grounds, offers you the perfect setting for your wedding celebrations. The venue is located just two minutes from the delightful market town Hitchin, in Hertfordshire.

The former Carmelite Monastery, dating back to 1317, embraces a combination of original 14th century and Georgian architecture. The striking building is set within 19 acres of beautiful grounds, situated on the River Hiz. The stunning surroundings provide the perfect backdrops for your cherished wedding photographs.

We strive to provide all you could need for a truly wonderful wedding, and it is our pleasure to take care of all of your requirements. You can rest assured that your big day is in safe hands, allowing you to relax and enjoy every moment of your wedding.

Your civil ceremony can take place in the grand main house, either in the Music Room or the Adam Room with up to 100 guests. Following your romantic ceremony, you and up to 80 guests can enjoy a delicious seated wedding breakfast in the Delme Restaurant. Finally, your evening reception will be held in our restaurant, glassed atrium and bar with 200 guests. Between May and September, a beautiful marquee can play host to larger wedding parties, seating 200 for a wedding breakfast.

When the day draws to an end, we can accommodate some of your overnight guests across 52 bedrooms.
