Nestled on the edge of Exmoor National Park, Deer's Leap is perfect for couples who want to create their own, very personal wedding ceremony and reception.

The days of the happy couple only achieving a quick formal 'hello & goodbye' to their guests are fast dwindling and a more personal type of wedding tradition is happily emerging. This is at the heart of everything we do at Deer's Leap Retreat. We are an inclusive, relaxed and beautiful venue, full of warmth and love. Be it an elopement, big family get together with everyone involved, unique theme, lakeside ceremony, festival, or relaxed country escape, the time you spend celebrating at Deer's Leap will feel like a wedding holiday.

We exclusively offer for each ceremonies or wedding our beautiful farmhouse, with private hot tubs and sauna, providing accommodation for 19, a 1 bedroom bridal cottage with private hot tub and during the spring and summer months, 5 luxury Bell tents, which sleep an additional 16 people for your guests to hire. It's easy to keep your nearest and dearest friends and family close.

We also offer lots of advice and support to help you plan your day, you can do as much or as little of the preparations as you choose. Deer's Leap offers the flexibility to have the caterers of your choice, or self-cater, as you wish.

Deer's Leap offers various settings for your perfect day. You may want your ceremony in our handcrafted lakeside gazebo, built from our own wood, dappled with sunlight, filtered through the trees in the early afternoon, or as the sun sets over the water bathed in the golden hues of evening light.

Outside is not the only option for your wedding, you may prefer our beautiful, old stone barn which offers a rustic backdrop to your day. If you're planning a smaller wedding and want a more intimate surround, the main farmhouse offers a choice of rooms with oak beams and inglenook fireplaces, all licenced for ceremonies.

Mix it up, make it unique to you, host a wedding breakfast in the stone barn, under a stretch canopy or hire the marquee of your choice. Hold the nuptials by the lake, then celebrate with a full reception dinner in the barn or a hog roast on the patio for something more informal, followed by cocktails and star gazing. You might like to consider holding your wedding reception inside a traditional Tipi or Bedouin Tent, with lighting, seating and planting all bespoke, creating a magical atmosphere.
