Bury Manor Barn is a venue for all seasons.

A stunning Tudor barn, set in the picturesque rural village of Bury, near Pulborough in the heart of the South Downs National Park. The barn and its idyllic surroundings are in the grounds of Dorset House School one of the oldest prep schools in the country.

Steeped in history, records of the Manor date back to the Domesday Book. Bury Manor has had many incarnations from a monastic building in the 12th century to a traditional manor house and a popular Edwardian House party retreat from London. This is an incredibly individual and special venue.

For guests staying overnight in the area, there is an excellent variety of accommodation from a luxury castle hotel to quirky Airbnbs, you will find something to suit everyone.

Bury Manor Barn is easily accessible by road and is on a quiet lane just off the A29. The closest railway station is Amberley but Pulborough offers a more frequent service. From here it is 1 hour 15 minutes to London Victoria and 40 minutes to Gatwick Airport. The coast can be reached in just 15 minutes.

Our 16thCentury barn is divided into two distinct areas by a pretty glazed wall; the outer barn, ideal for wedding breakfasts, and the inner barn for ceremonies with stunning views across the Wildbrooks and River Arun to Amberley Castle and the South Downs beyond.

Bury Manor Barn is a venue for all seasons.

Spring Weddings: Two perfect magnolia trees frame the entrance to Bury Manor Barn and the grounds look perfect in the spring sunshine. The log fire in the inner barn is of course available if the weather is chilly.

Summer Weddings: In the warmer months Civil or Humanist ceremonies can take place in our wonderful amphitheatre, where guests can take a seat in the sun with the river Arun, Amberley Castle and the South Downs before them. The large glass doors on the side of the barn looks south towards the pond with further expansive views.
